DTiNews readers have donated over VND50m (USD2,380) to a 41-year-old man in Nghe An Province who is suffering from brain haemorrhage and a victim of Agent Orange.

The representatives of DTiNews visited and transferred VND53,990,000 (USD2,380) to the family of Nguyen Ba Cuong.

Cuong's family receives the donation

Nguyen Ba Cuong is the second of the three siblings. He is unable to work as he is affected by the Agent Orange from his mother since birth. His body remains at the size of an infant's and he is almost full-body paralysed as only his arm and head can move around.

In April, he suddenly had a headache and seizure and was diagnosed with a brain haemorrhage.

The family depends on earning an income from their small fields, a monthly allowance of VND500,000 (USD22) for the disabled and the salary of a mechanic of Cuong's youngest brother. They had to sell their only motorbike for VND3m and borrowed from everywhere to pay their hospital charges.

Cuong's family said many people had called and visited them.

"During the most difficult times, you help us. Many people have called to give encouragement or visited and gave us money. Cuong has woken up from the coma and is able to talk now. We really appreciate your kindness," said Nguyen Ba Phuong, Cuong's brother.
