Little girl suffer from cataracts

Six-year-old Hoang Thi Thanh Truc in Quang Binh Province has never been able to see the world as she was born with congenital heart disease, glaucoma and cataracts in both eyes, and she is also mute and deaf.

Truc's parents got married in 2002 but they divorced after having a son. In 2007, they reconciled and gave birth to Truc. Her father took her brother back to his hometown in Hanoi. He visits Truc sometimes but doesn't help much.

Dau Thi Hoi, Truc's grandmother, said, "Her father doesn't care for a disabled daughter. Her mother has to borrow money to go to Taiwan to work. She's still sending us money to treat Truc."

  

Truc's mother left for Taiwan to find works

Truc's mother and grandmother hope that she will be able to see the world. Truc has to go to the hospital every three months so her mother had borrowed money everywhere and found any available work before seeking ways to be a guest worker in Taiwan.

Each month, she sends VND5m (USD220) to VND7m home but the money is not enough. It costs them VND20m (USD880) for a trip to the National Hospital of Ophthalmology in Hanoi to treat Truc's glaucoma. As of now, the family is owning VND200m (USD8,800) debts.
