Dantri/DTiNews classrooms in disadvantaged areas

Dantri/DTiNews has carried out dozens of classroom projects in disadvantaged areas across the country through donations from readers over the past 10 years.

By mid August 2017, 12 classroom projects have been completed and put into use in many provinces including Dien Bien, Son La, Ha Giang, Lai Chau, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.

Over the past years, DTiNews has called for support to build new classrooms in many remote and mountainous areas. Many readers have donated through the newspaper’s Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund after articles about deteriorated schools in these areas were published on the newspaper.

Below are the old classrooms in the remote areas and the new ones built thanks to Dantri/DTiNews readers’ donations:

 

Part of Chieng Kheo Primary School located in Pang Sang Village, Chieng Kheo Commune, Son La Province

 

The classrooms were made from pieces of old wood and could collapse at any time.

On August 10 this year, DTiNews started building new classrooms to replace these old one. The project is expected to be completed by next January.

 

Mun Chung Nursery School in Dien Bien Province’s Tuan Giao District with seriously deteriorated classroom. 75 children aged below five studied in three classrooms here.

Whenever it was rainy, mud and soil used to flow into the classrooms. Snakes were found in the classrooms for many times.

Each child in the school pays VND6,000 (USD0.26) for their school meal a day. However, several children whose parents can’t afford the charge.

On August 11, DTiNews began building news classrooms for Mun Chung Nursery School.


The new classrooms for Mun Chung Nursery School which cost USD14,543 and funded by the newspaper's readers were opened on November 4.


Students at Pu Xi Primary School which lies in the most disadvantaged commune in Tuan Giao District in the mountainous province of Dien Bien. Their school was heavily damaged by a landslide in April.

 

 

Dan Tri/DTiNews Newspaper started the construction of new classrooms for Pu Xi Primary School on May 17.


Students and teachers attended the opening ceremony of new classrooms in Pu Xi on August 11.

 


New classrooms of Ha Giang Province’s Bat Dai Son Primary School located at Na Quang Village were put into used early 2017.

 

The old Chieng So Secondary School in Son La Province’s Song Ma District.


 

 

New classrooms of Chieng So Secondary School were opened in February 2016.



New classrooms for Son Luong Nursery School were put into used in Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province in May 2016.
