22-year-old Truong Thi Duong, in Tan Ky District’s Nghia Phuc Commune, has been bedridden for months and her life totally depends on oxygen equipment. Every day, her husband has to use an injection cylinder to feed her.

Her husband said since when Duong was pregnant, her health has been very weak. So, she couldn’t work and just has stayed at home.
When she was in the final weeks of the pregnancy, she had light fevers. Taken to a local hospital for medical checks, doctors there said that the foetus was still normal, so she came back home.
However, two days later, she continued facing fevers and then gave the birth to a girl baby. Then she fell unconscious.
Her family then took her to Nghe An General Hospital for the treatment. However, more than one month of the treatment, her condition did not improve. After that, she was taken to Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi where doctors said that she was suffering from cerebral vascular problems which have become too serious.
According to doctors, her condition was too critical to be cured, so, they advised her family to take her home.

Her husband has sold out all valuable assets in their house to cover the treatment fees. He has also sought loans from different sources.
After giving the birth three months ago, Duong has fallen down unconscious, so she has not yet been able to see her child one time.
The baby can’t be given breast milk.
