40 tonnes of Da Lat vegetables sent to Truong Sa as Tet gifts
More than 40 tonnes of vegetables from Da Lat City have been sent to the island district of Truong Sa as gifts to islanders before the Tet holiday.
The batch includes cabbages, kohlrabis, carrots and pumpkins which can be preserved for many days. The gifts have been sent from today, January 4 along with VND100 million (USD4,545) in cash.
In addition, people in Da Lat City have also provided hundreds of flower baskets, varieties of vegetables and fertiliser to the islands.
Phan Thanh Sang, chairman of Da Lat Flower Association, said that the island district of Truong Sa was seriously affected by the recent Storm Tembin. A large area of farm land has faced the salt intrusion after the storm.
