DTiNews readers support ailing father and daughter in Nghe An
DTiNews readers have donated VND87 million (USD3,954) for a poor family in the central province of Nghe An in which the father is suffering from rectal cancer and his daughter have heart problems.
On January 13, DTiNews reporter in Nghe An granted the money for Ha Thi Minh’s family in Thanh Duc Commune, Thanh Chuong District, Nghe An Province.
The couple Ha Thi Minh and Tran Dinh Thuong does not have farming land and have to live on part of their relative’s tea farm. The family became more difficult when her husband was diagnosed with rectal cancer. Doctors said that he needed an urgent operation, so, the couple tried to get loans from different sources for the hospital fees.
After the surgery, her husband’s health condition has partially improved; her daughter’s heart problems got worse. So, she had to take her to Danang City for the operation. Despite being funded by a charity organisation, the family still spent VND13 million for the treatment.
Pham Ba Nga, Minh’s neighbour, said that many local residents joined hands to help Minh’s family, but it remains modest the daily treatment charges for both the father and the daughter is quite large.
Nga said she was really moved to receive the assistance from DTiNews readers.
