A poor family in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue is seeking for the community help. Severe traffic accidents have caused a stroke for the husband and traumatic brain injury for the wife, leaving a gloomy future for their five children.

This is the condition of the couple’s family Vo Dinh Quang, 53, and Nguyen Thi Thu, 49, in Phu Loc Town, Phu Loc District. The couple has five children. In 2016, Quang was in a traffic accident which caused him to have a stroke. Despite surgery, there has been little improvement to his condition.

After the husband’s accident, the family burden was solely on the wife’s shoulder. But unluckily, in November of the same year, she also suffered from a traffic accident which eft her paralysed with a traumatic brain injury.

The couple is very frail and unable to do anything. The children are taking turns to take care of them.

The oldest child Vo Thi Duc who got married has to come often to take care of her parents. The second Vo Dinh Hau, 21, had to leave school and to stay at home to support the family. Meanwhile, the other three children are at primary and nursery school.

Tran Van Nam, Chairman of Phu Loc Town said that local authorities have called the public for help Quang’s family, but the assistance remains modest. He hopes that volunteers will join the effort to support and help the struggling family.
