Terminally-ill couple take turns taking care of each other
A couple in Thai Binh Province is in need of help to pay for cancer treatment after both of them were diagnosed with the illness.
"Can you hear what I say? I've had many operations to cut parts of the jaw and tongue. My mouth is full of nails and screws now. My husband was diagnosed with lymphoma cancer in 2015 and has to take chemo and radiotherapy sessions," Van said.
Van said she found it difficult to talk since last year but didn't go to hospital as she was too busy working to pay for her husband's hospital charges. When she was diagnosed, her condition had significantly worsened.
Despite the pain of the illness, Van said they were more worried about their children. Van's oldest child is 10 years old and the youngest is only five years old. Van wants to go home because they can't borrow money from anyone anymore. However, her husband is determined to keep her in hospital.
Ngo Thi Hong Nham from the social work office of Vietnam National Cancer Hospital in Tan Trieu Commune, Hanoi, said Van had had many operations before she was admitted.

Pham Thi Van struggles against cancer
