Father diagnosed with encephalitis as son suffering from cerebral palsy
A woman in Nghe An Province is calling for financial support to help treat her husband and their son who are both suffering from serious diseases.
Them said her son was born prematurely so he was weak and often fell ill. Pho couldn't sit up at five months old and he rarely moved around.
"Both of us when we heard that our son was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. He is still so young and innocent," Them said.
Them then admitted her son to Nghe An Maternity - Paediatric Hospital. Thanks to the physical therapy sessions, her son can stand up and hold objects with his hands. However, he is still very weak as he weighs only 6kg at two years old.
Them's brother-in-law had an accident during Tet Holiday and needs acupuncture treatment regularly afterwards. Their only has a cultivated land. Them's husband became the breadwinner of the family but too much stress and work had worn him out. He had a high fever last week and was diagnosed with encephalitis, an acute inflammation of the brain.
Dr Dang Ba Toa at Nghe An Friendship General Hospital said, "We are monitoring him for encephalitis, depression and psychosis. We are waiting for MRI results for more accurate diagnosis."
