Ill father calls for help after losing son to same illness
A family in Nghe An Province is calling for financial support to help cover the cancer treatment for the father after his son also died of cancer last year.
One of Duc's children, Tran Van Thang was diagnosed with bone cancer in 2014. They borrowed money everywhere and brought him to Hanoi for treatment. Unfortunately, Thang died three years later at 20 years old. Duc was heartbroken and suffered from severe stomachache. When he was admitted to the hospital, he was diagnosed to be in the last stage of stomach cancer.
"I was taking care of Thang last year, now it's his father. Will he leave me and the children just like Thang?" Hoa said.
Dr Vu Quang Toan said, "He was admitted after having stomachaches for quite a while. He was too busy taking care of his son in the hospital to have a health check-up. We are prolonging his life with radiotherapy treatment."
