Readers donate VND175m to terminally-ill mother

Vu Van Quyen, vice head of the Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and Vo Van Lam, head of the communal Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee also visited Thanh. "I want to thank Dantri and everyone who helped Thanh during this time. She finally has money for treatment and doesn't have to worry about expenses for her children," Lam said.
Thanh expressed her gratitude in tears upon receiving the donation.
Thanh is struggling to take care of two small children while fighting for thyroid cancer. Thanh has an 11-year-old daughter, Nguyen Thi Nga, and a 3-year-old son, Vuong Loc. Her parents, husband and siblings have died of illnesses.
"How will my children live after I die? They are still so small," Thanh said.
Her only wish is for her children to be healthy and able to go to school.
