The eight-month-old boy Nguyen Dinh Duy has been taken back home in Tan Huong Commune, Tan Ky District for a month as his parents are so poor to cover the treatment. Now, he is using herbal medicines which prove ineffective to him.

Besides, congenital biliary atresia, he also suffers from heart problems.

These days, it is quite difficult to come to Duy’s house following recent floods which have ravaged Tan Huong Commune with roads leading to the locality partially damaged.

The boy’s dilapidated house has worsened after floods. Nothing is valuable inside the house, except for the bed.

Truong said that every day, the boy drinks the herbal medicine bought from the southern region, but his condition has not yet improved. He often has to uses oxygen cylinder due to breath difficulties.

Since being born, the boy has been taken to different hospitals, including Vietnam National Hospital of Paediatrics. Doctors said that he would face death risk without the timely and proper treatment regime.

The couple said that they have run out of money so they even can’t buy milk for his son. The boy’s survival now only depends on donor support.
