Dantri/DTiNews readers have donated over VND134m (USD5,700) to two brothers in Quang Tri Province who had suffered from worsening dermatitis.

Money transferred to Voc's family

6-year-old Ho Van Chan and 3-year-old Ho Van Nghi are from Van Kieu ethnic group in Quang Tri Province. Doctors at Quang Tri General Hospital said the boys had dermatitis but due to unhygienic living conditions, it had worsened and posed a high risk of infection.

On October 9, representative of Dantri, Dakrong District Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Women's Union and Ta Long Commune People's Committee visited and transferred a total of VND134,360,000 donation to the family of Hoa Van Voc and Ho Thi To.

Voc peels the melaleuca bark and does odd jobs for some money while his wife works on the fields so they can't afford to support the family and the boys' treatment. After their story was published, many people donated directly to the family.

Ho Van Voc said, "I don't know what to say except our sincerest thank to everyone who helped us."

After being treated, the boys' wounds have healed and they were released from Quang Tri General Hosptial.

Le Xuan Tang, vice chairman of Ta Long Commune, and Nguyen Xuan Quang, deputy head of Dakrong District Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs also thanked the donors, saying that they would guide the family on how to save and use the money wisely.
