Phan Thi Huong, who is in the fourth month of pregnancy for the third child, is now taking care of her husband Cao Tien Loi at Vietnam-Germany Hospital. Loi has suffered from severe brain injuries after falling from the second floor of a construction site.

To date, she has borrowed more than VND200 million (USD9,000) to pay for his treatment which has lasted for more than one month. Meanwhile, her second child Cao Huu Phuoc is also struggling with epilepsy.

Doctors said that Loi was hospitalised with hematocele found in brain so he needed urgent surgery. However, a year after that, the suture faced infection so doctors had to conduct another operation. The infection has become resistant to most antibiotics, causing the treatment to be more difficult.

According to doctors at the Vietnam Germany Hospital, the treatment would be long and very costly. They hoped that donors can ease the financial burden.
