Dantri has transferred VND255m (USD10,900) from readers to support three ill children in Nam Dinh Province.

"My parents tried to hide it from me but I know that I have leukaemia. I'm afraid of dying," said 13-year-old Do Cong Duong. "My brother had a bone marrow transplant because of thrombocytopenia and my sister was operated because of congenital heart disease."

Duong's father, Do Cong Tung, receives the donation

Duong's parents are farmers and can't afford treatments for all children. Do Cong Tung, Duong's father, borrowed money from everywhere they could think of. They were considering selling the house in their village but it might not be enough since the small house was not very valuable. Tung is afraid that they may not even be able to find a customer.

Duong's health has deteriorated so badly that he often vomits blood.

"He asked us to let him stay at the hospital. He is afraid that he'll die at home. I don't know what to do. My parents died a long time ago so we don't have anyone at home to take care of the children," Tung said.

Tung said he was moved when receiving the donation. He thanked everyone for donating VND255,800,000 (USD10,900) for his family, saying that he felt more confident now about the treatment.
