Children happy with the new classrooms
The old classrooms in Buot Village were seriously deteriorated, including two made from bamboo.
Following the article about the classrooms, many readers and the For Children Foundation contributed money through the newspaper’s Compassionate Hearts Charity Fund for the USD9,565 project.
At the event, Luu Thi Dung from the For Children Foundation said that her organisation co-operated with Dantri/DTiNews to build classrooms previously in Thanh Hoa and Dien Bien provinces. The foundation was willing to help children in remote and disadvantaged areas.
The project has a total investment of USD9,565
Speaking at the ceremony, journalist Nguyen The Nam, deputy head of the newspaper’s communications board said that the new and restored classrooms would help teachers and children in Buot Village to be warmer during the winter.
Nguyen Quy Duc, headmaster of the school expressed his deep thanks to donors. He added that in January this year, the newspaper also supported the school to construct three new classrooms in the school’s Pang Sang B branch.
On this occasion, For Children Foundation also gave books, notebooks and pens to pupils. The Garment 10 Joint Stock Company also provided the pupils with warm clothes.
