DTiNews readers help build house for poor ethnic minority family

Dantri/DTiNews online newspaper’s readers have helped to build a new house for the family of a little ethnic minority boy in the central province of Quang Binh who is facing serious kidney problems.

The readers have donated a total VND150 million (USD6,521) for three-year old Nguyen Van Son following an article about his condition was published. Son is struggling with nephritis syndrome which caused him to be puffed with oedema, particularly his belly. Meanwhile, he has been also diagnosed with severe malnutrition.

However, the family is so poor to cover the treatment fees, so the boy was taken back home for self-treatment.

Of the total donation, part was spent to build a new house for the family as their old house was really in bad condition and which could collapse anytime, and the remainder will be used for the boy’s treatment.

Their house is located in Bo Trach District’s Rao Con Village which is just eight kilometres from the commune centre, but the road to there is very challenging, particularly on rainy days.

According to reporters of Dantri/DTiNews, it took them up for hours to travel to the village by car on a rainy day. The road was extremely rough and slippery.

Nguyen Huu Hong, vice chairman of Bo Trach District People’s Committee, expressed his great thanks to Dantri/DTiNews readers for their support to Thiem’s family.

On this occasion, the newspaper and authorities of Bo Trach District also granted presents to many pupils in Rao Con Village.
