Thao is struggling with meningitis

Since then, she has suffered from fevers. Doctors at the National Paediatrics Hospital diagnosed her with meningitis which needs long-term treatment.

Monk Thich Minh Chau said she was abandoned at the pagoda with the piece of paper mentioning her name. It also said that Thao was born in April 2018. After that, the monks hoped her parents would return and take her, but to date, no one else has come forward.

Thao is being treated at the National Hospital of Traditional Medicine in Hanoi.

Doctor Tran Thi Phuong Linh, head of Paediatrics Ward of the hospital, said that Thao’s condition is serious. She has to use a ventilator.

Monk Thich Minh Chau said that he is busy, so he can only visit the little girl once per week.

The National Hospital of Traditional Medicine has been trying to call for donors to help the girl.
