Poor couple desperate to save their injured son
A couple in Dong Nai Province are calling for financial support to help save their son from serious traffic accident injuries.
Dr Luong Sy Duc said, "He's still young so we hope that he will recover soon to return to his family."
Khanh's mother, Tran Thi Thanh, said their hope was diminishing day by day because of huge debts.
"We work for hire for little income. After giving birth to Khanh and the second son in 2004, our responsibility was even heavier. In 2007, our youngest son was killed in a car accident," she said. "Khanh dropped out of school in 9th grade to help us."
Khanh wanted to open a motorbike repair shop but due to lack of money, he decided to work at factory first.
"Three months later, the accident occurred. I was cooking when a relative said Khanh had been admitted to the hospital. I fainted when I saw all the blood," Thanh said.
As a result, they had to borrow VND125m (USD5,400) to pay for the treatment and is now deep in debt. Khanh's grandfather sold his land to help them but the money is also running out.
