Readers help mother fight against kidney failure
Dantri/DTiNews readers have donated nearly VND56m to a woman in Can Tho City who is struggling with kidney failure while raising her mother and daughter.
Thao said some nights it hurt so much that she wandered the streets alone. Thao's father left them when she was small and her husband also left when she was diagnosed with kidney failure.
Dr Nguyen Tan Hai from Tam Minh General Hospital said, "Long-term kidney dialysis comes with many complications. Thao has a strong spirit in order to continue the treatment while working to support her family even with the complications."
Many people have called and sent her gifts after hearing about her situation. Thao was moved to tears when she received VND55,920,000 (USD2,400) donated from readers.
"I want to thank everyone who helped us in the darkest time. With this, I can continue my kidney dialysis and take care of my mother and daughter," Thao said.
