Ill man calls for help to raise family
A man in Nam Dinh Province who became disabled after a traffic accident is in need of help to cover medical expenses and to support his family.
The family of 90-year-old Truong Thi Dao live in a small house in Village 6, Y Yen District. Dao has mental illness and recognises almost no-one except for her son, Dao Quoc Thien, who was disabled after a traffic accident. Dao kept asking if Thien would be able to walk soon and Thien had to lie to her that he would be well soon.

The accident occurred on June 10, 2016, when Thien crashed with another motorbike which was driving in the wrong direction. It was a hit-and-run case and Thien was taken to the Vietnam-Germany Hospital by locals. He was transferred to different hospitals during the treatment. He was saved but cannot walk anymore.
Vu Tien Dat, head of the Village 6, said, "Thien's family is the most difficult case in our village because Thien is unable to do hard work like before. His mother is ill. His sons are in 7th and first grades and his wife earns little incomes from the fields."
Thien said he felt helpless since he was unable to work and support his old mother.
Dao Thi Hong Thom, Thien's daughter, said, "My father said we must study hard and obey mother because he was already a burden to her."
