One year ago, the story about the four children’s family in Tan Loc Commune, Loc Ha District was published on Dantri/DtiNews Newspaper. After that, many people have sent their money through the newspaper to help them.

The donation granted to the family

The oldest child is 17-year-old Phan Hoai Thuong, with the youngest brother only three. Their father had a stroke and died over a year ago. One month later, their mother was diagnosed with cancer and had to go to HCM City for treatment. Since then, they had to take care of each other, and their daily meals consist of only rice or instant noodles with vegetables.

Thuong had to stop learning when she was in Grade 10 to take care of the family although she has good study results. When the mother had to come to a hospital in HCM City for the treatment, leaving the four children stayed at home.

Just a short time after the article publication, the family received the first donation of VND712 million. Donations continued to arrive.

To date, they have got a total VND2 billion (USD86,956), including VND1.2 billion sent through the newspapers.

Bui Thi Do, Thuong’s grandmother expressed her great thanks. With the donation, the children can go to school and the mother can go to school for the treatment.
