Japanese football players hold special class for Vietnamese disabled children
Disabled children in Danang City have participated in many activities with volunteers from Japan including a special lesson with players from Omiya Ardija FC.
Children from four facilities including Tuong Lai Special School, Centre for Research and Development of Special Education in Danang, Danang Agent Orange Victims Support Center and Danang Centre for Inclusive Education Support and Development. Besides playing with the balls, the children were also taught life skills.
According to the players from Omiya Ardija FC, they had been afraid that the children might not have the stamina to play outdoors for long but after they were glad to see that the children were very enthusiastic. They hope to be able to come back and visit the children again.
Ito Mai, a Japanese volunteer, has supported disabled children in Danang for nearly a year. She said she wanted to learn more experiences to support children and help them integrate.
