5-year-old boy suffers severe injuries after truck accident
A four-member family in Vinh Phuc Province are in desperate need of financial support after being injured in a traffic accident, while one of their sons remains in a serious condition.
Nguyen Thi Trang, an employee at the Social Work Office of Vietnam-Germany Hospital in Hanoi said that Khanh was admitted to their hospital. "His situation is still very serious. Looking at him suffering from the pain every day hurts us too," she said.
Bui Van Thanh, Khanh's uncle, said, "We all ran to the hospital after hearing that all of my brother's family were hit by a truck. My brother woke up that day but my sister-in-law and nephews were still in a coma. Khanh's situation is the most serious. The skin on half of his head and limbs were lost after being dragged by the truck."
Khanh's father is a factory worker while his mother works as an agricultural labourer. They have no money for the treatment so the relatives and neighbours donated to help them until now.
Dr Do Thi Ngoc Linh said, "Khanh has gone through two operations but his condition must be monitored because of various serious injuries. He will have more operations in the future. Even with health insurance, the treatment cost is enormous so we hope that he will get help from the community."
"Our whole family is still trying to borrow money. We don't know what to do," Khanh said.
