Father struggles to support near-blind wife and ill son
A man in Quang Tri Province is in desperate need of financial support to save his child and wife from illnesses.
They borrowed from friends and family for his treatment. He was treated five months at the hospital and went through two operations but his condition got worse. His head has continued to get larger and larger and while he is being weaker to the point that he can only lie in bed.
In 2015, his wife, Tran Thi My Hanh, started losing her vision. Doctors said she had Glaucoma but it was discovered too late. She has had five operations but the results are not positive. Hanh said she could hardly see anything anymore but she still takes medicines to avoid going blind, hoping that she will get another operation and get better.
Their eldest daughter, Ho Thanh Thuong, is in 10th grade and takes care of everybody and the housework when her father goes to work. Sometimes, her father even went to Laos to work as a porter.
"I feel worried when I have to work far away but I have no choice. I hope I can find good jobs near home. I have tasted all difficulties, I only hope my wife and children will be healthy," he said.
