A man from the northern province of Phu Tho has been saved from the death risk caused by a heart problem thanks to Dantri/DTiNews readers’ donations.

Hoang Trong Trac was taken to a local hospital with a high fever and was then moved to Bach Mai Hospital in Hanoi where he was diagnosed with acute myocarditis. Doctors said that he needed the extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) technique for being saved. This method would require more than VND100 million (USD4,347).

However, at that time, his wife Nguyen Thi Nga had only VND400,000 (USD17.39).

After an article about Trac’s condition was published on Dantri/DTiNews, many people helped.

Doctor Bui Van Cuong from Bach Mai Hospital who gives the direct treatment to Trac said that he has overcome the critical condition. He now can walk and eat normally.

On December 3, his family received the donation of VND172.79 million (USD7,521)

Nga used VND53 million of the sum for some charity activities, including supporting two other patients at the hospital. One of them is an American man who is staying at the Centre of Haematology and Blood Transfusion.

Nga said that this will be the happiest Tet Holiday for her family as her husband has recovered.
