Blind man calls for help for children's future
A disabled man in Dak Lak Province is in need of financial help to support his two small children after his wife died.
Hoang Van Cuu, Giang's father, said, "I have four children. Giang is the youngest and the only one affected by the Orange Agent. When he got married, I had thought that everything would be better but his wife died in an accident, leaving two small children behind."
Their family depends on the little monthly allowance which is just enough for daily meals. Cuu and his wife are helping to take care of the children and Giang. Giang collects grass for the cows for some incomes while his parents remove the shells of the tamarind for other people.
When his wife died, their son was only two years old. Giang said he was lost and didn't know how to raise the children. They were later given a cow by the authorities. "What will happen when my parents grow older and weaker?" he said.
Now he doesn't even dare to dream of building a new house as his wish is to let his children going to school.
Doan Van Hung, chairman of Ea Huar Commune People's Committee, said, "Giang's family is one of the most difficult cases in our area. We really hope they will get help since they can't do anything else to earn money."
