Grandson risks being away because of poverty
An elderly woman in Hai Duong Province is calling for financial help to support five grandchildren after their parents left them.
Thu said she had three daughters. Two of them had bad marriages. They either live separately with their spouse or had a divorce. Afterwards, they all brought their children back to Thu to take care of. One of Thu's daughters went to China to find work and hasn't contacted home.
"My oldest daughter has three children. I don't know where my son-in-law is anymore. I don't even know when she was pregnant with the youngest," Thu said.
Le Van Khiem, vice chairman of Hong Khe Commune, said, "After knowing that Thu and her husband are in difficulties because they have to raise five children together, we have helped them the best we can. We tried to encourage them to overcome hardship when Thu said she wanted to give away one of the children for adoption. But they are really struggling. We hope they will get help."

Vu Thi Thu has to take care of five grandchildren

Thu and her second daughter wake up at 4 am to work on the field until night. The youngest child still needs breastfeeding but the whole family will have nothing to eat without working.
"I just want my grandchild to be adopted by a nice family," Thu said. "He will not be hungry and have new clothes. He's my grandchild but he's suffering from living with us."
The whole family already knows about Thu's decision. Her oldest grandchild wanted to drop out of school to find work.
"My grandmother said I was still too young so no one would hire me. I have to at least graduate secondary school," Nguyen Dinh Hung said.If you can help them please donate through:
