Vietnam presents 80,000 face masks to Germany

The Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association on Wednesday gifted 80,000 antibacterial cloth masks to Germany to help the country’s Covid-19 efforts.

Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung who also chairs the association handed over the made-in-Vietnam masks to the German Embassy in Vietnam on May 6.

Amid the on-going Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association called for the donation of 80,000 masks to help Germany. The masks are gifts from the members of the association and Vietnamese people who love Germany, Dung added.

German Ambassador to Vietnam Guido Hildner praised Vietnam’s achievement in the COVID-19 fight. The mask gift underlined the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Germany.

Earlier, Vietnam has donated over a million antibacterial masks and other medical supplies to countries worst-hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, including Cambodia, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Japan, Russia, Spain, Sweden, the UK and the US.
