Khoi suffers from brain injury after work accident

Pham Van Khoi's wife left when their daughter was only two months old. Since then, Khoi has done every work he can in order to support the child and his parents. However, in late 2019, he suffered from a traumatic brain injury after a work accident and had had several operations at Vietnam-Germany Hospital.

His parents are unable to borrow money for him and struggled to raise the two-year-old granddaughter.

After Khoi's story was recently published on Dantri/DTiNews Online Newspaper, many readers have shared sympathy and encouragement to him and his family. Nearly VND300m has been donated to help him, in which VND149,400,000 (USD6,400) was transferred to Khoi on April 27 and VND122,700,000 (USD5,300) was given to him on May 5.

In addition, the Nam Dinh Branch of Saigon-Hanoi Bank donated to the family VND36m (USD1,500).

Nguyen Thanh Thuy, head of the Administrative Office, said they had visited the family and transferred the donation. They wanted to work with other readers to help Khoi overcome his difficulties and recover.

Pham Van Duc, Khoi's father, said, "I feel like I've been dreaming. It's been over a year since Khoi was admitted to hospital and I have borrowed from everywhere and sold everything I can think of. Just when we have nothing left, you helped us. I feel so much more optimistic now."

Many friends of Khoi donated to him VND18,450,000 (USD791). Le Thi Thu Hien, one of Khoi's friends, said, "We are really thankful for everyone's help. Many friends of ours who live far away also called and donated when they heard about his situation."

Hien also bought clothes for Khoi's daughter.
