Both of the children suffer from cerebral palsy.
"My house is 20 minutes away from the hospital so I asked the doctors to let my children be outpatients to save some money. Their grandfather carries them to the hospital every day," Thiet said.
Nguyen Quang Vinh was born in November 2016 when Thiet was 20 years old. He rarely cried and his legs were stiff. But at three months old, he couldn't move his body and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy. Thiet and her husband to bring him to Hanoi for treatment.
In 2019, Thiet's second son, Nguyen Duc Linh, was born. He also had the same symptoms as Vinh's and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy.
Thiet's husband earns little money as a factory worker while she stays home to look after the children.
Dr Nguyen Thi Thu Soan said, "Both Vinh and Linh need long and costly treatment. They have shown positive results so far but their family's in difficulties."
"Seeing them like this makes me think I'd rather die than watching them suffering from illness. Doctors said they could be cured but we are running out of money," Thiet said.
