Mother calls for help for injured son
A woman in Quang Ngai Province is calling for financial support to help cover medical treatment for her son who was seriously injured after a traffic accident.
Nguyen Van Thanh is seriously injured in a traffic accident.
After his condition stabilised, he was transferred back to the Rehabilitation Hospital but his health was still very weak. He has pneumonia, gastritis and is malnourished.
Dr Le Khac Cuong said even though Thanh has health insurance for near-poor households, he still needed expensive medicines and long-term treatment so it is still very costly.

Thanh works as a bricklayer while his sister took a tailoring course. But after Thanh's accident, she left the course in order to take care of him.
Tao said they had depended on the kindness of the neighbours and relatives so far to pay for Thanh's hospital charges but they can't depend on them forever.
Phan Thanh Trinh, vice chairman of Hanh Minh Commune People's Committee, said the local authorities also called for help for Thanh's family.
"I hope the community will help them in the coming days," he said.
