Construction has started on a project to build 50 floating houses for households in flood-prone areas in the central province of Quang Binh.

The project worth VND1.5 billion (USD65,217) will benefit 50 poor households in Tan Hoa and Minh Hoa communes.

The project is part of VND6 billion (USD260,869) donations raised from the newspaper’s recent campaign to call for public assistance to help flood-hit people in the central region.

The groundbreaking ceremony on Saturday saw the participation of Dantri/DTiNews Editor-in-chief Pham Tuan Anh and representatives from Minh Hoa District and Quang Binh Province.
