Dantri/DTiNews readers help to repair mountainous classrooms after floods

More Dantri/DTiNews readers have continued supporting flood-hit people in the central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam following recent storms and floods.

On Tuesday, Pham Van Minh, vice chairman of VCP Power and Construction Joint Stock Company in Hanoi, came to Dantri/DTiNews headquarters to grant the VND200 million (USD8,695) donation to assist in repairing four classrooms in the Central Highlands province of Kon Tum.

Of the sum, VND120 million will be used for the four classrooms at four schools in Kon Plong and Dak Ha districts with VND30 million each.

Meanwhile, the remainder will be spent as scholarships for disadvantaged students in the two districts with VND1 million each.

The work on the classrooms is scheduled to start next week.

According to Minh, the donation was raised from the firm’s staff contribution and welfare fund. He expressed his deep sympathy to losses caused by storms and floods since early October for the central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam.

He hoped that local students could return to school.

On behalf of Dantri/DTiNews, Deputy Editor-in-Chief Nguyen Xuan Toan received the donation.
