Readers help save little boy from losing an arm

Dantri/DTiNews readers have donated millions of VND to a little boy in Hai Phong City whose arm was severely crushed after a traffic accident.
Six-year-old Khuc Hoang Viet has gone through several operations after a traffic accident.
Viet and his mother were going home when their motorbike hit another motorbike, resulting in Huyen and Viet both falling onto the road. Unfortunately, a farm vehicle was very close to them at the time. It couldn't brake in time and crushed Viet's arm.

After two weeks at the hospital, Viet's family spent over VND100m (USD4,300) despite having health insurance and the money ran out quickly.

Do Thi Huyen, Viet's mother said after their story was published, many people in Vietnam and from abroad called to give encouragement and sent them gifts. Thanks to everyone's help they were able to continue Viet's treatment. Huyen thanked the doctors and especially Dantri readers who helped them.
Nguyen Thi Trang from the Social Work Office of Vietnam-Germany Hospital said Viet had just had the third skin graft operation and was in stable condition. If everything goes smoothly, he will recover and be ready for rehabilitation.
