The project includes 50 floating houses built in Tan Hoa and Minh Hoa communes of Minh Hoa District.

The ceremony saw the participation of Dantri/DTiNews Newspaper’s General Managing Director Pham Phuc Hung and representatives from different Quang Binh provincial agencies.

The project investment was contributed by Dantri/DTiNews readers after the newspaper launched a programme to call for the community’s support for flood-hit central localities.

According to the newspaper’s General Managing Director Pham Phuc Hung, the project proves the unity and sharing of the community for people affected by floods. Dantri/DTiNews is proud to act as a bridge to public support.

The newspaper has also helped to repair and built many classrooms in flood-affected localities, including Quang Nam and Kon Tum.

This year, the newspaper will continue working with donors on more charity activities.

Nguyen Bac Viet, chairman of Minh Hoa District, expressed his deep thanks to Dantri/DTiNews and readers for the assistance.

Local residents are very happy with the floating houses.

Tan Hoa and Minh Hoa communes are often hardest hit by floods. In October last year, the communes were put 5-8 metres under water, isolating hundreds of households.
