Poor man to get surgery thanks to support
A poor man in the northern province of Hai Duong has received over VND100 million from the public to cover surgery fees for a head injury.
Luan had undergone a surgery that saved his life but his health was still very weak after that with a deformed head.
At that time, doctors from the Vietnam-Germany Hospital said that Luan needed to place a titanium sheet into the broken side of the skull. However, his poor family could not afford the cost so he was taken home and has lived in constant pain.
According to Luan's mother, Ho Thi Lan, Luan usually destroys furniture and beats her when he has a seizure. Sometimes he even walks out to attack other people.
"My husband left us 10 years ago and my two daughters live far away so they can’t help," she said. "Now I only wish that I have enough money to continue the treatment for him."
"Luan recently came to the hospital but doctors said that he's too weak and needs to improve his health in order for them to carry out the surgery," she said. "Now I'm trying to nurse him so that he can have good health for the surgery."
The woman also sent her thanks to kind donors for supporting her son.

Lan said that she has received over VND100 million (USD4,348) from kind donors which is probably enough to cover the surgery costs for her son.
