Readers donate millions to help ill family
Dantri/DTiNews readers have sent over VND265m (USD11,521) to support a Quang Binh family with ill members.
Nguyen Thanh Hung, chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Cu Nam Commune said the authorities have helped build a proper house for Hoi's family using fund for poor households.
Nguyen Thanh Hung also thanked the readers for the help. "I want to say thank you to everyone. I hope other people in similar situations will get support from the public," he said.
Readers donate millions of VND to Nguyen Thi Hoi's family
The money was raised after their story was published on Dantri/Dtinews Online Newspaper. The financial support came while the youngest son of Nguyen Thi Hoi is receiving treatment for liver cancer. But he died a short time after that.
Another son of Hoi has lung problems but has not been treated properly due to financial difficulties.
Hoi, 55, has heart failure while her husband has epilepsy so they can only do some odd jobs to earn modest income. Because of their weak health, employers do not want to hire them so they rarely have jobs.

Receiving the donations from Dantri/Dtinews' readers, Hoi said that they were really grateful for the great help.
"We'll use the money to repay the debts, treat our second son and my husband," she said.
