The orphans are in dire need of support

Two weeks ago, while fishing on Thanh Ba River, the couple’s boat suddenly sank due to the strong wind, leaving the couple missing. Despite great rescue efforts by local authorities, they were found dead the next day.

Among the six children, two are married, and one, Nguyen Van Cuong, 25, has completed his military service. Meanwhile, the three others, who are in grades 6, 8 and 10, are at risk of leaving school due to financial difficulties.

The children have become more reserved since their parents’ death. They are struggling with a gloomy future.

Dinh Thi Huyen Trang, chairwoman of the Red Cross in Hoan Lao Town, said that local authorities assisted the family in holding the funeral for the parents.

Cuong now is the breadwinner of the family, but he has not yet found a job after finishing his military service.

Trang called for support to help the family partially overcome their tragic challenge.
