Dantri/Dtinews supports health insurance for Can Tho students

Dantri/Dtinews on September 5 presented 1,000 health insurance cards to disadvantaged students in the southern city of Can Tho.

The gifts were given to mark the start of the new school year 2022-2023.

Speaking at the new school year opening ceremony at Ly Tu Trong High School for Gifted Students in Cai Rang District, Editor-in-Chief of Dantri/Dtinews Newspaper, Pham Tuan Anh sent his best wishes to teachers and 895 students on the 2022-2023 school year.

"With support from our readers, we’ll present 1,000 health insurance cards worth nearly VND600 million in total to disadvantaged students in the city including those at Ly Tu Trong School," Anh said. "We will continue to go side by side with local young people in their studies and career choices."


Distributing the cards to students, Can Tho City Department of Education and Training Vice Director Nguyen Phuc Tang, said that health insurance cards were meaningful presents to students from difficult families.

"We treasure all the support from Dantri/Dtinews over the past," he said. "We believe that this valuable support will encourage local students to study better."

An 11-grade student, Do Hong Xuan expressed her thanks to Dantri/Dtinews for the present.

"My dad has died and my mum is struggling to raise us on her modest income from selling lotto tickets," Xuan shared. "This health insurance card will help protect my health. Thank you so much."

Attending the new school year opening ceremony at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School, Vice Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, cum Chairman of the city People's Council, Pham Van Hieu and representatives from Dantri/Dtinews also presented the cards to some students.

The official said he was very moved when Can Tho was chosen by Dantri/Dtinews to offer their first health insurance cards.


"The cards will help ease the financial burden onmany local families who have been hit by the Covid-19 pandemic," the official said. We want to send our sincere thanks to Dantri/Dtinews and all kind donors for your valuable support to our residents."
