Construction on the project at Huoi Lech Primary School in Muong Nhe District started on November 26.

In April this year, the newspaper received information from Muong Nhe District’s Department of Education and Training about the condition of Huoi Lech Primary School’s branch in Pa Tet Village. Specifically, the facility did not have electricity and lacked water as well as classrooms and accommodation for students. So, nearly 40 students had to move to the school’s main headquarters to learn, however, it is nearly 100 kilometres from Pa Tet Village.

Meanwhile, Huoi Lech Primary School is home to just 10 classrooms, including four that are seriously deteriorated. The relocation of the 40 students from Pa Tet increased the pressure on the school. Amid the situation, the newspaper and Phu Dien Construction and Investment JS Company agreed to build four dormitories for the school.

Because of the accommodation shortage, many teachers from different localities such as Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Nghe An and Phu Tho have to rent rooms to live. It takes them up to five hours to travel to the school. Therefore, lots of them have left the school.

Ngo Trung Kien, chairman of Huoi Lech Commune, expressed her great thanks to the community for the assistance.

Deputy Editor-in-chief of Dantri/DTiNews Nguyen Xuan Toan said that this would be the 71st work of 26 bridges and 45 school facilities that the newspaper has helped to build in remote areas in Vietnam.

The newspaper has also helped support 5,000 disadvantaged people.
