Na Phung Kindergarten has badly deteriorated

The boarding school has only one classroom for nearly 40 students aged between 2-5 who share the same class. The classroom, together with the kitchen, and restroom have all badly deteriorated.

Next to the Na Phung Kindergarten is the Na Phung Primary School which also shares the same situation and needs urgent restoration and upgrading.

According to the official, the schools lie in the poorest commune in the district where all residents are from the H'mong ethnic group living off small-scale farming. Most parents are facing difficulties paying for their children's meals at school and cannot afford the construction fees. The district's budget is also very limited.

"This is a big encouragement for us and the students," he said. "Thank you so much."

Director of Minh Tri Thanh Company, Nguyen Van Luong, speaks at the event

Director of Minh Tri Thanh Company, Nguyen Van Luong, also attended the ceremony. He said that the company has joined in various charity programmes to support students in difficult areas and hoped that children in Na Phung schools will soon have new, better facilities for their study.

At the ceremony, Dantri Newspaper co-operated with Luong The Vinh School in Hanoi to give presents including notebooks, books and pens to local students.

The newspaper also co-operated with doctors from the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases to offer free health check-ups and medicine to 200 local people who are mostly children.
