"We'll continue to try our best to do more charity projects for the communities. And we hope that local authorities will create favourable conditions for this new project to be carried out with the best quality."

"We want to send some help to bring better living conditions for the students," Thiem said.

At the ceremony, Vice chairman of Xin Man District People's Council, Vu Minh Hung, shared that many schools in the areas are having poor-quality facilities due to the local government's limited budget and parents' low income. Besides, the tough weather is also making it harder for pupils living in makeshift dormitories.

"We want to send our sincere thanks to Dantri Newspaper and Him Lam Real Estate Business Joint Stock Company for supporting us building a better dormitory for our children," Hung said.

According to the school headmaster, Hoang Van Toan, his school has 610 students and 290 of them have to stay at the school due to difficult roads. The students are all from some ethnic groups including the Dao, Nung, and H’mong whose lives are still very difficult.

"Some 25-26 students have to share the small 10-square metre room at the dormitory," he said. The dormitory is built from metal sheeting so it's very cold in winter and very hot in summer. We give each room an electric fan but it doesn’t help much."
