Hoang Quy Phuoc has become the first swimmer of Vietnam to secure a ticket to the 2012 London Olympic Games, following his good performance in the freshly-ended Malaysia Open Swimming Tournament.

Phuoc finished with a time of 53.56 seconds in the men’s 100-m butterfly swimming category.

With this result, Phuoc is also eligible to participate in the World Swimming Championships to be held in China in July, together with his teammates Vo Thai Nguyen and Pham Thanh Nguyen.
