Supermodel Ha Anh has been accepted as the Vietnamese contestant in this year's "Top Asian Model" contest, after Huong Giang turned down her nomination.

This is one of the titles of the new Fashion Asia Awards, organised with the support of media and fashion groups from 13 Asian countries. It will held for the first time this year will become an annual event.

Ha Anh will leave for Hangzhou, China, on February 6 to take part in the contest.

Huong Giang, who represented Vietnam at last year's Miss World contest, was first nominated for the "Top Asian Model" contest, but she refused because she was scheduled to take part in charity events in Vietnam.

The EvE Group, which is in charge of selecting Vietnamese contestants, has nominated Nguyen Vu Ha Anh to replace Huong Giang. The organising committee has approved the change.
