Wushu athlete Hoang Thi Phuong Giang on December 8 clinched another gold medal for Vietnam at the ongoing 27th SEA Games in Myanmar.
Giang outperformed all of her rivals in the women’s Changquan, scoring 9.68 points and took the medal.

In the men’s Nanquan, Vietnamese athlete Pham Quoc Khanh failed to enter the top three, after earning 9.66 points, or 0.01 point less than the bronze medalist. The top three were WaiPhyoAun of the host country (9.70 points), MunHua Ho of Malaysia (9.68 points), and Myanmar’s SoeKyaw (9.67 points).
Khanh’s teammates - Tran Xuan Hiep and Nguyen Manh Quyen – were unsuccessful in the fiercely competitive Gunshu for men.
By 11am on December 8, Myanmar topped the medal tally with 8 gold, followed by Thailand and Vietnam, with each winning two gold medals.
