Ly Hoang Nam has become the first Vietnamese tennis player to earn a Grand Slam junior title after winning the boys doubles trophy at the Wimbledon championships with partner Indian Sumit Nagal on July 12.

Nam and Sumit Nagal overcame Reilly Opelka and Akira Santillan 7 -6(4) 6-4 in the title clash that lasted 63 minutes.
Before competing in the final match, Nam and Nagal defeated Alex De Minaur (Australia)/ Yosuke Watanuki (Japan) 6-4, 7-5 in the first round and England pair Jonathan Gray/Ewan Moore 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 in the second round.
They beat Japanese pair Yusuke Takahashi and Jumpei Yamasaki 6-2, 6-3 in the quarter-finals.
Nam/Nagal outplayed No 5 seed Miomir Kecmanovic (Serbia) and Casper Ruud (Norway) 7-6, 3-6, 12-10 in the semi-final match that lasted two hours and 20 minutes to advance to the boys’ double finals.
