First World martial art championship takes place in HCM City
Young martial artists are practising in a Vietnamese traditional martial art class in Hanoi.
The championships will see the participation of nearly 250 martial artists of 50 delegations from 27 countries and territories, including France, Germany, Spain, Australia, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia.The competition, which is expected to become a biannual event, includes five different combat and performance events, a performance of Tai Chi Chuan, and will award 52 sets of medals.
The championship, which are organised by the WFVV in collaboration with HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aims to introduce the Vietnamese martial arts and encourage people to train in the sports, said Giang.
