Dog beauty contest to be held in Nha Trang
Over 40 dogs have been registered to participate in a canine beauty pageant held in Nha Trang City this Tet.
The contest was held by the Nha Trang Dog Club on February 11. This is the first time a dog beauty contest was held in the city. The contest started with a parade along Tran Phu Street with including Husky, Budo, Miniature Pinscher and Chihuahua breeds.
Nguyen Nhu Y, head of the club, said, "The contest aims to introduce pet owners to each other, help them exchange experiences and create a festival for the dogs. The dogs are all vaccinated."
In the qualification round, the dogs were able to show off their poses to the camera and on the red carpets at three different locations depending on their weight. The 10 most outstanding dogs will enter the final round.
Poodle owner Tran Cao Tien said, "My dog is just a year old and this is also his first time at this contest. This is a good opportunity for the dogs to get to know each other. It's great if we win something and have experience for next year."
The top 10 dogs will go to Monkey Island Resort to attend the Dog Fashion Show on February 18, or the third day of Tet Holiday.
