Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the exhibition is one of the cultural events being held to honor and promote the values of national cultural heritages from various regions, especially heritages recognized by UNESCO, in celebration of National Heritage Day on November 23.

The exhibition will feature a photo exhibition themed “Journey of Cultural Heritage of Vietnam” with 100 pictures on heritages around the country selected from a contest receiving nearly 5,000 photos.

There will be an exhibition space of cities and provinces with the theme “Cultural Heritage of Regions” and an exhibition area entitled “Honoring Artisans” that highlight the value of famous sites, relics, culture and traditional trade villages in different localities, such as Hue Imperial Citadel in central Hue city, gongs in the central highlands, worshiping rituals for the Hung Kings in northern Phu Tho province, folk music from north-central Nghe An province, and festivals from the south.

Another attraction is a display of “ao dai” (Vietnam’s traditional dress) that introduces the history of the dress, ao dai worn by famous women from Vietnam and other countries, and new collections from famous local designers.

Within the framework of the exhibition will be traditional art performances, an exchange program for students with the theme “Youth with National Cultural Heritage”, a painting contest called “Children with Vietnamese Cultural Heritage”, and a workshop on “Heritage and Cultural Heritage Issues in Hanoi and Neighboring Provinces”, showcasing tourism and local agricultural products.

The event seeks to contribute to building Vietnamese culture and deepening the national identity, and will help localities exchange experience in the management, preservation, and promotion of cultural heritage values.
